Secret Santa Swap and Goodies!

Last week, I received my Secret Santa Christmas Swap all the way from New South Wales! Of course, I couldn't wait so I opened it right away. Dearest Peg sent me this gorgeous "Shaggy Quilt" she made from Roman Holiday fabric collection by Moda. Loooove it! Thank you very much! Elf Donna did a great job hosting this worldwide swap.

This "huge ass box" is from Sharon. If you're a regular reader of her blog, you definitely know what's in the box. She sent me tons of snacks and extra goodies. Emma decided she should have the first pick! hehehe...Thanks, Sharon!

Is it Christmas yet?

I'm about to change my blog banner but the online image editor is offline at the moment. So here's a sneak peek of my new banner I'm hoping to install this weekend. It's finally up!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend. I stuffed my face but I made sure I didn't overdo it like last year. People, I ate too much I was in PAIN!!!! Thank goodness for my pain receptor's long term memory! I will NEVAH EVAH do it again...Well, i'll try.

I was able to finish all my swap projects and send the packages out before the deadline. I made exactly the same thing for my 2 swap partners. Lucky for me, they both have the same taste.

Mary Ann, my deck the halls swap partner, received my package on Wednesday and I'm happy to say she was pleased. You can check out her blog to see the items I sent her because I forgot to take pictures. Silly me! Thanks to Monica (the other Monica) for hosting this fun swap.

I'm not allowed to say my Secret Santa Christmas Swap partner just yet. I'm just following the rules so Elf Donna wouldn't have to kick my bony little ass! I will show more pictures later.

Is it really brrrrr season?!

Where is the 'brrrrrr' factor?

I'm loving SoCal's fall weather right now! Just like my friend, Dashel. He's a needle felted bunny rabbit from Jenn Docherty. Isn't he adorable? Anyhoo, back to the weather report. Lately, it's been a tad bit nippy at night and early morning then the temperature reaches up to mid 70's by noon. So I ask you, where's the brrrr? It is supposed to be jacket season but I'm not really ready for that because it means Christmas is not far away. People, it's practically here! Most shops have their christmas decorations up all ready. Can you believe it?!

Speaking of christmas, I signed up for another holiday swap over at Monica's . The other Monica! I just hope I won't be late again!

One less wip!

Yes, another 5" charm square quilt. I can't seem to stop buying those dang charm packs!  I got the "jolly packs" from Fat Quarter Shop. The fabric line is called Barefoot Roses by Grand Revival Design for Free Spirit Fabrics.  In case you're wondering, the inner border is not from the same line. It's one of the fabrics from 3 Sisters "Gingham Rose" collection for Moda. I LOVE this quilt! The prints are girly but not too frou-frou!

All right! I have to go work on something else like a new blog banner in time for Halloween or come up with something handmade for the 2 swaps I signed up for. Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Toodles!

Hoot, hoot!!!! I'm finally done with my owl swap.

I'm so happy the way it turned out that I'm having second thoughts giving it to Claire. Bad Doe, bad Doe! I'm really hoping she doesn't like it! I'm just kidding, Claire. I hope you like it. But in case you don't, I'll gladly take it back! tee-hee!

I'm so glad Dawn saw my mistake. It would've been really embarrasing if Claire got it.

I made a "think tank" for Claire. A covered 2" D-ring binder complete with clear plastic inserts to store her crafting inspiration and ideas for future projects. Hope you like it, Claire!

This is what happens when you, umm,  I procrastinate!!!! Look at this big ol' mistake. Claire is my swap partner and I embroidered Dawn's name on my thing-y! Claire, I'm so sorry for the mistake. Don't worry I'll fix that PRONTO. Or we can just call the owl "Dawn"! Just kidding. tee-hee! Dawn, thanks for pointing out my big boo-boo!

New kid on the Blog

Another lady friend jumped on board the blogwagon recently. Yipeee! Please give your warmest bloggy hello to Donna of The Calico Horse (her quilt shop) and The Quilted Star. A couple of days ago, she had the Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser at her shop. She and her friend Wendy raised over $6,000 for The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer!! Good job ladies! She's the one that quilts for me and probably wondering why I haven't given her any.  Donna, I'm giving you a much needed break from the silly girl. tee-hee!

Update (8-22-07) I failed to mention Darla, who also did a good job at helping with the fundraising. She is a dental hygienist, a Longaberger consultant (my very own personal consultant, tee-hee) and a very talented quilter. She was able to persuade (she's good) the L. company to send a weaver to demonstate basket weaving, the Longaberger way. She also donated baskets to help raise more money. Good job, Darla. I know you're really busy but can you please start your own blog so everyone can have a look-see at your wonderful work. I especially love your little quilts for your "baby". What do you say?

Big news from the Secret Santa Christmas Swap Headquarters

I just found out my secret santa swap partner. For a small fee I'll give you a hint. I'm serious! LOL! So, who's my secret santa? Can anyone tell me?

C'mon, I promise I'll be good for the rest of the year! LOL! Just like this cute Christmas tree topper Annie I bought last year from Nicole's shop . Isn't she adorable?! Where were we? Oh yeah, I'm really dying to know who's got my name. Tell me, please. Someone? Anyone? Ok! I guess, I'll have to wait.

Look what I found!

I went to the local antique mall and I found this old quilt. I'm not sure if these blocks are feedsacks but I really like it especially the cheddar yellow border. I found this book, too. No torn pages or doodles anywhere. Score! I really like old children's books like this with colored picture on every page. Every page!

I was a muse for a day!

Super sweet Lori from PLT mentioned me on her blog yesterday. She made me this cute embroidery. Unbelievable?! Somebody pinch me! She's got me on cloud 9 and I don't ever want to come down.  Her blog is loaded with "oodles and oodles" of  eye candy. She creates yummy little pretties from her super cute tiny house. One less WIP and Two Friendly Swaps

Yay!!! My mojo is definitely creeping back in. Slowly but surely! I finished my scrappy quilt using my charm squares and this tumbler template I got from Honeysuckle Cottage. I bought the suction cup (6 in a bag) from Road to California Quilt Show early this year. It's really handy when using small templates. A rotating mat is also helpful. You don't have to pick up your fabric just rotate the mat. You know us quilters and our fun tools... gotta have 'em!

Mail Call!!!

Last week, I received this ADORABLE bunny from one of my Bunny Swap partners, Dawn. Oh so CUTE!!! And three Robyn Pandolph (love her too!) fat quarters from her Hannah Bella collection. Very pretty! I finally received all fabric bundles from participants of the Fabric Swap. Thanks to all my partners Dana, Dawn, Jen D., Jen K., Missy, Kate, Sarah, Melissa D., and Claire. And a big thanks to our hostess Jen D. I haven't figured out what to do with these wonderful fabrics. Although I want to do something I can share with all of them. I got this cute Honey Bear from Missy's shop and it arrived Thursday!  I love the 'shroom on her head. Stinkin' cute!!!! Of course, Missy always add something extra like this cute notepad, pin and the sparkly letter "D"! tee-hee! Thanks Missy!

I feel like I'm on crack when it comes to Japanese craft books! LOOOOOVE IT!!! I blame...nope, I would like to thank all the wonderful bloggers who posted photos of Japanese magazines/books and made me into a Jap-craft addict! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

I'm late, I'm late! I'm really, really late!

I'm finally done with my bunnies. I think I've apologized to my swappy partners in advance because what you're about to see might make you hurt me. Please don't, I bruise easily!

Where is Harry Potter's invicibility cloak? I need it right now! I'm dreading this very moment. Just to warn you in advance, my skill (at 0.001%) in softie making SUCKS!!!!! So sorry Dawn and Julie!!! I've added beaucoup loot in the box to soften the blow. Oh Baby Jesus, here we go...

This bunny on the lil' itty-bitty mug is my inspiration. Remember the the bowl? It is a set.

I like it better flat but since this is a bunny swap I had to stuff 'em!  Which I think was a big mistake because I'm not very good at stuffing. Either I overstuffed or understuffed. These two are from the same litter and one is a runt. BTW, thanks to Sharon for letting me have the brown wool for this swap. Say hello to my Lump-kins! Put on your darkest goggles right now!
