Mad about ME!!!
It feels like I've been on this diet for a month now and it's only the third day! Waah! I swear I took the wrong time of the year to do this. Being on fabric diet is hard especially when the new Mary Engelbreit fabric collection is exploding everywhere. Lucky for me I got my bundle waaay back when. Thanks to this lady for getting it for me at the Quilt Market last year. She also got me a signed pot holder. Yay!!! Under the pot holder is my signed copy of the 10th anniversary issue of ME magazine. For my friend Michelle's birthday last year, I took her to one of ME's book signing here in SoCal. Please excuse the dark picture, flash photography wasn't allowed. I forgot to mention that Michelle introduced me to the world of ME 15 years ago. Here I am still gaga over the Queen of Cute!
Window shopping
Drooling all over the internet for some cute stuff including fabrics might not be a good thing. I haven't bought anything. OK, I did but no fabrics! I swear! So far, so good. Be strong, Doe. Be very strong!!!
And these magazines aren't helping me at all! I'll show you some pics later. That's my Lil' Annie from Nicole. Seriously though, I really don't need to buy more because I have too many projects/kits that are piling up on the floor.
Does anyone know if the new American Jane "Wee Play" collection is out? LOL!
Don't make me beg? Here, have a Valentine token or ten.
Be my Valentine! Pretty please?!!!
That's better!!! I hope you have wonderful day surrounded by beautiful flowers and spending the day with your sweetheart. I'm hoping to do the same thing. That is, if I can pull myself away from the double fudge chocolate cupcake! Happy Valentine's everyone!
Excuse me, may I have some privacy please! Can't you see I'm in the middle of doing something personal?!
Wahwahwahwah.
Is that a camera you're holding? What are you planning to do with it?
Wahwahwahwah.
You better not take my picture?
Wahwahwahwah. Click!
Did you just take a picture of me?
Wahwahwahwah?
You better not post that on your blog or you'll be sorry! I mean it!!!!
Wah?
Where are you going? Come back here!
Waaaahhh!!!
You better not post it?!Arghhhh!
Too late!!! Bwahahahahahahaha!

Did you find that amusing? Emma hates me right now but she can't stay mad at me for too long. Believe me, I know.
Have a wonderful week. I hope you find something to smile about all week long. Toodles!
I've been getting e-mails from you dearest bloggy friends wondering if I'm still alive and why the heck I haven't posted anything! Ooopsy, so sorry to keep you hanging like that. I didn't mean to get you all worried about me. I should have told you I'm taking a blog break because of my day job. Anyhoo, I have a little bit of time to post so here it is.
First, I know this is waaayyy too late but I want to wish everyone a prosperous NEW YEAR!! Howzit so far? Moi? Well, don't hate me because I was lucky enough to win this wonderful bag over at Beata's last month's giveaway. Bwahahahaha!!! Just look at it! She even embellished the tissue paper with felted flowers! Gorgeous, isn't it. Thank you very much, Beata. I love it!
You should check out her blog. She's AMAZING!!! You are going to need a drool bucket. I mean it! Did you see her babushka dolls? Crocheted projects here, here (including a tutorial), and I LOOOVE what she did with plain T-shirts here. What about her wooly projects here? Oh for crying out loud, just go have a look! You will not be disappointed. Tons of eye candy! I can't wait for her Etsy shop to open. Soon I hope. Real soon. Maybe she'll sell more of her cupcake bags so you can have your very own.
Next, I've been working on this Look and Learn pinwheel quilt since December. I went to the Monday night class at the quilt shop hoping to finish it but of course that didn't happen. Everytime I go there I hardly get anything done. I end up yakking up a storm, eating too much, laughing a lot and shopping for more fabrics! It was a good break for me though. It was great to see Cheryl and the ladies. I'm hoping to attend more often but we'll see.
Totally missed Road to California quilt show. Thank goodness Sharon, Cheryl and Donna promised to take tons of pictures to share! So where are they, ladies?
By the way, did anyone know about Cath Kidston Home? Cath's US online shop that carries her past bed and bath collections at a discount. How come no one told me about this sooner? Are you keeping it to yourself because of the great discounts to be had? Ok, I'm with you on that one because that is something I would do. I know what you're thinking. Selfish little...!!!! Totally and I don't feel guilty at all. All right, calm down. I'm sharing this bit of good news so don't give me that look! Anyway, I bought these lovely embroidered pillowcases with matching duvet cover at 50% off or was it 75% off the retail price. Love it!
More than 50 PERCENT OFF on Cath Kidston bed and bath!!!! I'm serious! Do you see the pictures below? Just go over there. I know you want to! Go, go, go!!!!
Here's a sneak peek of what I'll be posting next time. I don't exactly know when but I'm hoping someday soon. Sorry about my banner. I'll take a better picture to replace it as soon as the sun comes out. Take it easy everyone!
Toodles!
Last week Sweetie and I drove up north to San Francisco and he decided we should take the scenic route. Oh boy! Mind you I get car sick. UGH! So I took a pill and braced myself in case of a barf fest. Just because he has a rally car, a WRX Subaru Impreza with an obnoxious fin, doesn't mean the road is his personal raceway! Though he would like to think so. We took Highway 1, the windy road along Big Sur. Thank goodness, we took a lot of stops along the way. I desperately needed fresh air and the open space. Did I mention I'm claustrophobic?
I don't know why but looking at these pictures remind me of SNL's Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey! Remember? LOL!
As much as I'm getting used to the color pink (hated it as a kid), I like the usual colors for Christmas - RED, WHITE, and GREEN, and definitely more RED! I decorated and whipped up a few items for the holidays. So far I'm loving everything!
Like these stuffed heart-shaped ornaments. I should make some more. This is a great idea to use up some of your scraps. I like the fabric covered buttons as an accent. I'm soooo ready for Valentine's, too!
I made a pair of matching stockings using one of my CK fabrics. Love it! Wait a sec, do you see anything wrong with this one? Obviously, I wasn't paying attention when I was sewing it. Had to re-do it, of course! Tee-hee!
I started decorating but I'll add more stuff around the house when we get a tree. Yes Monica, Sweetie and I are going to enjoy a live tree this year! We desperately need to breathe something other than smelly smog for a change! Anyhoo, I decorated one of the built-in open shelves in the kitchen. I especially love my collection of paper-mache Rolly Polly santas I purchased a few years back. Sweetie called the pom-pom trim dingle-berries! Umm, sure you can call it that!!!
Look at this! The little gnome is playing hard to get. Emma, my little helper told me to check-in with the household diva before I started decorating. Check!
These are from my Deck the Halls Ornament swap partner, Mary Ann. Everything goes well with my decorating theme. I especially like the cute red 'Doe'. Thanks, Mary Ann!
BTW, I met Sharon and Cheryl yesterday and they were laughing at me because of my attire. In my defense, it wasn't a balmy 60-degrees more like freakin' 50-degrees according to my car's temperature gauge. I trust my car more so than these menopausal ladies with an internal temperature that is soo totally out of whack! LOL! Ok Sharon, so I need to put more meat on my skinny bones. If you could help fatten me up that would be SUPER. Don't like anything greasy, though! Except for In and Out cheeseburger with grilled onions and strawberry milkshake with a side of Mickey-Dee's french fries! Mmmmmmm, YUMMY!!! Love it but not everyday.
NOTE: Online image editor is still offline. Possibly until Sunday. Bummer! See previous post for a sneak peek of the new banner. It is up!
Let's start with this book Sharon sent me. LOVE it!
Little Miss Meshell posted a link to this Pink Christmas flick group. Lots of eye candy!
Ball ornament wreath. The photos aren't that great but the wreath is really pretty IRL. Miss Meshell also posted a link to Martha's tutorial on how to make a ball wreath.
PKM cupcake quilt made from Sandy's pattern. Yummy-licious!!!
I got these house ornaments over at Lori's. I might use them as gift tags. Maybe?
Adorable bracelet from Jen. Too cute! Love the box as well.
Little Lovelies made these for me for the owl swap. Fancy needlework on vintage hankies. Thanks, Claire!
These fabrics by Verna Mosquera that I found over here. The collection is called Sweet Escape. I saw a couple of her quilts in Houston. Very lovely!
One more thing...
