I told you about my current fabric obsession "Celebrate Spring" by MODA a few days ago and started working on it right away. Last Monday night's DYOQ (do your own quilt), I was laying out my blocks and our babysitter (one of the shop's assistant) asked if they can use it to display in the shop. I said OK and so, had to finish it quickly. Here are some pics. Bunny-kin helped me a lot these past few days. Hope you like it.
A week ago, the shop owner asked if I wanted to make a quilt for the shop using 3 Sister's "Roman Holiday" fabrics, another MODA collection. And the fat quarter bundles just came in. YEEEESSSS!!!! I agreed to finish it in time for the Quilt Run which is in 2 months. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! I found out early on that one of the perks of making quilts for the shop is keeping it afterwards. Yipeeee!!! Check it out.
Monica has an open invitation to anyone who wants to join "Mimi Kicks Stash Quilt-a-long". Her table runner came out stinkin' cute! Hop on over there and have a look-see. You're going to love it. I haven't quite started mine but i already picked out the fabrics I'm going to use. I'm thinking of making a lap size. I'm also using 30's fabrics.
Saturday afternoon, I took a class at the shop using some left over fabrics from another project. Really, like I'm running out of projects to do. It's called Crow's Foot Quilt by Cheri Saffiote. The book is titled Wednesday's Best.
Saturday evening, I dragged Sweetie's sick ass to an Alumni dinner at the Mission Inn in Riverside. Very nice hotel. Its architectural style includes Mission (Spanish and Mexican) , Islamic, Moorish, Mediterranean, Arts and Crafts as well as Asian influence. It was nice to see old friends again but we had to leave early because Sweetie looked like he was going to cough up a lung at the dinner table. :(
On Sunday, I worked on some WIPs and did household chores. It was gloomy and cold but that didn't stop me from having a bowl of ice cream with some Hawaiian Sweet rolls. My own version of ice cream sandwich. Yummy!!!
